I'm bringing Portuguese wine to you, in English, for people who want to better understand what's in their glass from these incredible wine regions. Americans prepping for a trip to Portugal. Expats standing confused in the wine aisle. People who love wine and want more of the story. Portuguese wine is interesting, well-made, and genuinely great value. Yes, the grapes have hard-to-pronounce names if you don't speak Portuguese, production can be small, and distribution is usually limited. That said, these wines are worth knowing. And that's exactly why I'm here.

The 14-Region Journey

Portugal has 14 official wine regions, from the rainy green north all the way down to the sunny southern coast, plus two island groups out in the Atlantic. Each one has its own grapes, its own landscape, its own winemakers doing interesting work.

I'm visiting all 14 regions as my way of deep diving into my new home. Through wine, I'm learning about Portugal's people, its history, its places, and the stories that don't make it into travel guides.

About Jamaica

I'm curious about wine - and the people and places it comes from.

I'm a Portuguese Wine Specialist and WSET-certified wine educator who thinks learning about wine should be fun, tasty, and informative. In 2025, I packed up my kiddo and my life and moved to Coimbra, Portugal, because it was time to live life a different way.

Before my big move, I spent years doing marketing and operations at both Fortune 50 companies and startups.

Now I get to visit wine regions, sit with winemakers, and learn this beautiful country one bottle at a time. Wine is my way into the culture, the people, the places. There's a lot more to discover - I'm just getting started.
